| An important security feature for online transactions appears on most Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express credit cards. This feature, called CVV2 or CVC2, is a 3-4 digit value which provides a cryptographic check of the information embossed on the card. It protects the credit card holder from fraud. This program helps validate that a genuine card is being used during a transaction. CVV2 is only printed on your credit card. It is not contained in the magnetic stripe information, nor does it appear on sales receipts. | |
